Just one of the many classic Buicks to become a favorite among classic car lovers is the 1955 Buick Roadmaster Series 70. It has endeared itself into hearts big and small, and has even won the attention of famous owners. Jay Leno, a popular nighttime talk show host, owns one beautifully restored 1955 Roadmaster, and has for quite some time. Let’s take a closer look at this beauty.

Held in the front compartment of the car, the V8 322 cubic inch engine produced 236 horsepower at 4600 rpm. To drive one of these down the road, its owner uses the automatic Dynaflow transmission. The car is quite heavy, weighing in at about 4418 pounds, but the rear wheel drive makes a cruise quite enjoyable. Reaching 0-60 miles per hour in just 11.2 seconds, it has surprising speed for such a heavy model.

Although the Buick Roadmaster Series 70 was produced from 1936 to 1958, the 1955 model year was a great one indeed for this classic car. To own one, an interested buyer would need to be prepared to spend between $3,350 and $3,550. The smaller amount is equivalent to almost $29,000 today. However, those who own an accurately restored model and decide to sell it can make significantly more than that.
